Reading and Leeds 2015 Organiser Promises a Guitar-Filled Line-Up

The organiser of next year’s Reading and Leeds Festival has stated that the line-up is shaping up to be filled with guitar bands.

Organiser Melvin Benn has revealed that plans are already underway for the next joint festival, even though he has only just wrapped up Reading and Leeds 2014 this past weekend.

This year the festival was headlined by the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone Age, Paramore and Blink-182, and Benn stated that next year he’s looking to make the line-up similarly guitar-heavy.

Speaking to NME, Benn said: “For 2015, the conversations are already absolutely in full swing. We have one band already confirmed. We’re waiting for them to make a decision on which night they play Leeds and which night they play Reading.”

He continued: “Every band we are talking to has got guitars.”

Obviously that’s only a very small hint as to what Benn has in store for us next year, but as Glastonbury continues to appeal to a broader audience, it should be considered as no coincidence that the organiser is strongly pitching his festival as an alternative for fans of guitar music.
