Gamescom 2014: Microsoft Teases Xbox Press Conference, New Announcements

Sony has made a big deal out of its upcoming Gamescom appearance. But what about Microsoft?

Microsoft has released a teaser video for its upcoming Gamescom 2014 schedule. Seen above, it makes clear that not only will there be a press conference, but behind the scenes interviews with developers and raw gameplay will be viewable via the official stream.

In the past, Microsoft hasn’t taken Gamescom very seriously. We’ve seen closed door only press conferences, and a very light delivery in previous years. Chances are this will be its biggest showing at the convention ever, due in-part to its new, more gamer-oriented approach.

We expect to see new gameplay and possibly release dates for Quantum Break and D4. Games like Sunset Overdrive, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and maybe even 2015 releases like Halo 5 and Phantom Dust are likely to be in attendance.

Microsoft’s press conference will start at 1:00PM BST/2:00PM CEST on August 12th. It will be viewable via stream on Xbox.com.
