Vance Joy Hit Featured In Snapchat Update

Vance Joy‘s Australian hit “Riptide” has provided the soundtrack for Snapchat‘s announcement of the addition of geo-filters to its app, allowing users to add labels and drawings based on their location.

Overnight Snapchat announced to users they will be able to spice up their snapchatting experience with the addition of specific art and labels for snaps taken in certain cities and destinations.

Reports Mashable, the location-based feature will allow users to swipe right to see art related to the amusement park for example, or cartoon images relating to certain New York and Californian neighbourhoods.

Snapchat has been testing the geo-filters in a couple of cities already and more are expected to emerge now that the feature has officially launched. According to Mashable, Snapchat has not commented about whether some of the art (related to Disneyland and SoulCycle) are a part of a branded partnership.

Along with introducing the world to their new feature, Snapchat introduced its international users to Australian artist Vance Joy. This comes as Joy continues to make inroads in the US market, with his ukulele-driven tune “Riptide” recently cracking the US Billboard Top 100 chart.

Joy has also recently revealed the details of his debut album, Dream Your Life Away, which will be released on September 5th.
