The Sims 4 Will Launch Without Swimming Pool and Toddlers, Fans are Angry

So this is a little ridiculous. The Sims 4 will launch without swimming pools and toddlers, features which have been implemented in previous The Sims games, with no reason being given for their exclusion.

This has led fans to speculate that the features will be released in an expansion pack, with angry fingers being pointed in the direction of EA and Maxis over perceived money-grubbing.

A developer blog from Maxis’ Ryan Vaughan reads: “While we recognize that some of you will be disappointed that pools and toddlers won’t be available when The Sims 4 Base Game launches in September, you should know that we’re building an incredibly strong foundation that is capable of fulfilling every one of your desires in the years to come. The future of The Sims 4 is bright!”

Mocking the post, Facebook user Nikita Lacroix wrote: “Keep your eyes open, fellow simmers, for the new Baby Life expansion pack for The Sims 4! A brand new life stage, toddler, will be introduced to The Sims series, allowing you to make weirder, crazier, more vivid and tactile stories than ever before!” It seems that the majority of fans are expecting these features have been removed from the game in order for them to be included in an expansion pack, and if this is the case then it is certainly an underhanded move on behalf of EA.

EA has yet to state whether these are features that will eventually be added into the game, and if players will have to pay for them when they are, but suffice to say that there are plenty of unhappy Sims fans out there right now.
