GTA V PC Added to Steam; Includes Advanced AI, New Weather and Damage Effects, Video Editor

Grand Theft Auto V has just been added to Steam. As expected, it has an array of improvements to reward PC gamers for their patience.

Although no pre-orders are currently available, and system requirements are still up in the air, a description has been posted which shows some of the PC version’s improvements. It says:

Grand Theft Auto V for PC will take full advantage of the power of PC to deliver across-the-board enhancements including increased resolution and graphical detail, denser traffic, greater draw distances, upgraded AI, new wildlife, and advanced weather and damage effects for the ultimate open world experience.

Improved visuals were expected, but these welcomed changes to traffic, A.I., and even weather are nice perks.

Previously, Rockstar’s PC ports have been a bit rocky. Grand Theft Auto IV on PC was a bit of a mess when it launched due to game-breaking bugs and performance issues. Quite a stir resulted, but Rockstar pushed out updates that would eventually make it undoubtedly the best version of one of the highest rated games ever.

In addition to the previously noted improvements, the description says a “video editor designed for advanced movie-making” will be included. There are a ton of awesome videos from GTA IV on the internet which include stunts, funny moments, and more. Rockstar seems to have a strong interest in promoting this type of content. It’s already been incredibly popular with GTA V on consoles, and with mods supported and better graphics, the PC version could blow up YouTube with some epic videos.
