E3 2014: Apparently The Last of Us Remastered on PS4 is Releasing on June 13th, Right After E3

The PS4’s exclusive line-up for the second half of 2014 has dwindled down to just a couple releases following several big delays, but there’s still one game that could possibly make up for all of it. That game is The Last of Us: Remastered, a PS4 ‘Game of the Year’ style edition of what was not only one of the best games of last year, but easily a top 5 game of the entire last generation. But when is it coming?

UK retailer Game shared on its Twitter account this morning that The Last of Us: Remastered is coming next week. You can see the Tweet below:

Game appears to have shared the exact date of the release, which is Friday the 13th. A few other insiders have jumped in to confirm the release date, making it seem incredibly likely.

This appears to be a huge mistake by whoever is handling the Twitter account. With no other outlet releasing this likely embargoed information, chances are it was intended to be a huge surprise at Sony’s E3 Press Conference, which is next Monday evening. As much as this ruins the surprise, the game hasn’t changed, and will undoubtedly be next-gen’s highest rated game.

The release date makes sense. It would fall the day after E3 ends, and would cut right into the beginning of the Summer gaming drought. It would also arrive almost exactly one year after the PS3 version, which had a release date of June 14th.

There are pre-order bonuses available, so if this interests you at all you may want to get your pre-order in.
