BlizzCon 2014 Tickets Go On Sale Tonight, Here’s How You Can Make Sure You Attend This Year [UPDATE]

Update: Well, folks. That was something else. BlizzCon tickets sold out within two seconds of going live. I think that’s a NEWWWW RECCCOORDDD!

Don’t fret, a second wave of tickets will be available on May 10th (Saturday) at 10:00AM PST so try again then. Good luck. You’ll need it.

Original Article: If you’re new to BlizzCon, let me make something abundantly clear. The demand for tickets is outrageous. When I say that they sell out within seconds of being available, I’m not exaggerating. So when you see that this is a guide to buying tickets, don’t laugh. Only the most ferocious of ticket buyers are able to score them in time. But we have your back.

Out of all the gaming related conventions on the planet, BlizzCon is my favorite. I’m sure there are others who agree. Why is that? Well, it’s like a Disneyland for Blizzard fans. The whole convention is about fan service, whether it be you being able to engage with others fans of Blizzard games, playing titles before they launch, or earning some cool swag. So if you enjoy WarCraft, StarCraft, Diablo, or anything else Blizzard related, you should at least consider going this year.

Here’s what you need to know. Tickets will be made available tonight, May 7th, at 7:00PM PST. There will be a second wave of tickets made available on May 10th (Saturday) at 10:00AM PST. If it’s anything like previous years, and it will, every single ticket will be sold out before a minute passes. If you aren’t able to buy a ticket on either day, you’re going to have to be hooked up by a friend, or purchase scalped tickets somewhere (which are WAY more expensive).

At the specified times, a buy option will be added to the ticket page on EventBrite. You’ll want to be on a PC, at the page, and hitting F5 to refresh your browser even before the minute ticks over. The moment you see that the page has tickets purchasable, don’t hesitate. Click buy and hope you did it in time.

If you manage to get to the next page before they’re sold out, you’re guaranteed to be able to secure your tickets granted you don’t leave the page. Furthermore, you’ll want to make sure you have a reliable internet connection, and nothing around to distract you. A computer crash or router outage could cost you your tickets.

One option you’ll have before being able to click Buy is the quantity of tickets you want to purchase. In my experience, this isn’t even a relevant option. I’ve been able to adjust the quantity after securely arriving at checkout. You’re probably better off clicking buy with only the default quantity selected. Changing that figure will take you a second or two, and you won’t have that kind of time.

Tickets are $199.99 this year, and the show will once again be host at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. Goodie bags have been given to all attendees in the past, and you’ll be able to customize your badge with character information. Who knows, maybe you’ll cross paths with some of your e-friends (or e-enemies) at the show.

If you aren’t fortunate enough to have the time to attend, a Virtual Ticket will be available during the event (for an undetermined price, but last year they were $39.99) which will allow you to watch HD streams of everything at the event. Those events include tournaments, big announcements, panels, and discussion.

If you need any other advice, or have any questions feel free to leave a comment below. You can read more about BlizzCon 2014 at the official site, and we hope to see you there!
