The Dream Arrested For Assault, Allegedly Strangled Pregnant GF

R&B singer The-Dream is in police custody over charges that he assaulted ex-girlfriend Lydia Nam in 2013.

TMZ reports that The-Dream (real name Terius Nash) turned himself in at a New York police precinct this morning (May 7) and was booked on felony charges of assault and strangulation. Police report that the incident in question took place at New York’s Plaza Hotel in April of last year, wherein Nash reportedly punched, kicked and strangled the then-pregnant Nam. She gave birth to their son three months later.

Strangling a pregnant woman? If dude is guilty, he needs to be blacklisted from the industry. There is zero justification for enabling such a disgusting human being to maintain a luxurious lifestyle and, through PR glazing, enjoy the continued adoration of fans as if the incident were a minor infraction.

However, Nam did not go to police until seven months after the alleged incident, complicating the charges. Dream was previously arrested in connection with a separate domestic violence incident (also involving Nam) last June in Newport Beach, CA , but Nam refused to press charges. As a result, the case was dropped.

In addition to the new felony charges, however, Nash has reportedly been charged with three misdemeanors connected to the incident: assault, reckless endangerment and child endangerment.
