Amid its dozen-plus run of new reality shows launching this year, AOL is preparing to kick off a series centering on Laura Jane Grace, vocalist for rock outfit Against Me! who came out as transgender in 2012.
The show, called “So Much More,” does not yet have an air date but aims to tell the story of the singer/guitarist formerly known as Tom Gabel as she meets “gender-variant people from all walks of life all at various points in their journeys.”
AOL says they aim to represent others “whose experiences are woefully underrepresented and misunderstood in the media.”
Against Me’s excellent new album Transgender Dysphoria Blues was met with widespread critical acclaim and fan enthusiasm, which undoubtedly made the process of undergoing a gender shift in the public eye a bit more bearable for Grace.
