Delivering a refreshing ray of psychedelic rock with a hearty dose of funk thrown in, Canterbury quartet Syd Arthur was a highlight of our new discoveries at Coachella 2014. The band‘s new album Sound Mirror is out May 20th on Harvest Records (Morrisey, BANKS, Death Grips), but that didn’t stop them from flexing an array of new material for the early revelers on Sunday.
We caught up with the guys, Liam Magill (guitar, vocals), Raven Bush (violin), Fred Rother (drums) and Joel Magill (bass), to discuss what it’s like to play their first American festival, as well as the experience of playing their new record for people before it’s released in public.
