Atari has announced that it is aiming to release Rollercoaster Tycoon 4‘s PC version during Holiday 2014.
The mobile version launched just days ago to widespread criticism. Although it’s priced at $2.99, there are invasive microtransactions nearly everywhere. Want to speed up project construction? Please enter your credit card information.
Presumably, the PC version of Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 won’t inherit these post-purchase microtransactions traits. This begs the question: how much different will the PC version be?
Atari says the PC version will be “completely different” than the mobile version, elaborating by saying the version will include co-operative modes and “even more social features” than the recently released mobile iteration.
As a Rollercoaster Tycoon fan I’m skeptical. However, if it turns out to be a proper release for the franchise, I know where I’ll be spending a good portion of my Holidays.
