League of Legends Red Cross Tournament Features Celebrities and Great Prizes

The American Red Cross is hosting a League of Legends tournament that begins today at 11:00 a.m. 128 teams will be entered in a single elimination tournament for a shot at the Grand Prize: a team trip to one of the upcoming North American LCS Tournaments where the most talented teams in the world compete. The Grand Prize includes hotel and airfare, in addition to a meet and greet with one of the pro teams at the tournament.

The tournament also has a prize pool of over 100,000 riot points, offering you chance to go on a shopping spree for new characters and skins if your team manages to battle its way to the top 4 spots in the tournament.

Entry is only $24, and goes directly to American Red Cross to provide blankets, meals, and shelter to those in need. March is Red Cross Month to honor the mission of helping the thousands of people in need.

Several celebrities have already pledged their participation including Super Bowl Champion Michael Strahan, television personality Lamorne Morris, actress Serinda Swan, and many others. Some of these personalities will not only participate in the tournament, but appear on the livestream (embedded above)

A live stream of the event can be viewed on Twitch. The final match will take place tomorrow and can be viewed on the stream.

If you play League of Legends and want to participate, go to the donation page and donate $24 to secure a spot. E-mail your receipt with a team name to tournament@tiltify.com.

In the event that you want to participate but don’t have a team, a chat room titled TILTIFY will be available on League of Legends at 10:00 a.m. where you can find some teammates.
