Watch Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Janelle Monáe, Pharrell & Friends on NBA All-Star Weekend 2014

The NBA All-Star Game is always a bit of a goofball spectacle, with the halftime show never seeming to have much cultural relation to the game itself. This year, however, producers pulled plans together with fluidity in mind, enlisting Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Janelle Monáe and others for a pretty fantastic night on the court.

Watch below as Kendrick rips through renditions of “m.A.A.d. City” and “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,” before Pharrell leads a star-studded crew through through a Neptunes greatest-hits run while introducing the lineup for both All-Star teams. Sometimes it’s easy to forget the contributions Pharrell has brought to the world of music in the past decade and change, but in a format like this a reminder can be such a sweet thing. Also, during the halftime show, Janelle Monáe shared the stage with Earth, Wind & Fire, Trombone Shorty, Dr. John, and Gary Clark, Jr.
