Watch Childish Gambino Cover ‘I’d Die Without You’ by PM Dawn

Dude.

Donald Glover said goodbye to his TV role on NBC’s “Community” in a wildly awesome episode a couple weeks ago, and since he sailed off in the great Gambino boat (alongside Lavar Burton, oddly enough) we’ve been wondering what would come next for his musical alter ego, Childish Gambino.

That question was answered today when Glover sidestepped his Kanye-lite routine to deliver an absolutely magical exhumation of P.M. Dawn’s 1992 slow jam “I’d Die Without You” on BBC Live Lounge. The original is a beautifully understated love song that drowned in the heavy-handed brooding of the grunge era, and we’re happy to see it revived here. Check it out below.

Childish Gambino’s album Because The Internet is out now on Glassnote/Universal.
