Watch Bruce Springsteen & Jimmy Fallon’s Hilarious ‘Gov. Christie Traffic Jam’ Spoof

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s favorite rock star shamed the mouth-breathing backpedaling politician last night on NBC’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon”. Bruce Springsteen joined the comedian in a damn good “Born to Run” parody called “Gov. Chris Christie’s Fort Lee, New Jersey Traffic Jam.”

Springsteen and Fallon lambasted Christie’s involvement in the bridge scandal that’s commanded the entire focus of news coverage and national dialogue (despite an avalanche of news about an extension of the NDAA and other nationally relevant sociopolitical and socioeconomic issues). Fallon sang, “They shut down the tollbooths of glory ’cause we didn’t endorse Chris Christie.”

Springsteen, identically dressed in his signature rocker regalia from thirty years ago, joined Fallon as they sang, “You’re killing the working man/who’s stuck in Governor Christie’s Fort Lee, New Jersey traffic jam.”

A fine moment of comedy aside, this is a particularly cutting segment to Christie, who considers himself among The Boss’ biggest fans and said he wept after he got a hug from Springsteen at a benefit concert for Superstorm Sandy victims in 2012.

Bruce’s new album “High Hopes” is available on iTunes now.
