Among several other developers, Blizzard Entertainment has shown a preference for the next generation of PlayStation over Xbox One. Not only is Diablo 3 confirmed to be coming to PS4 this year, but its first expansion, Reaper of Souls, is as well. But that console exclusivity might be short lived.
A listing on Best Buy Canada‘s site shows Diablo 3 for Xbox One. An online pre-order is available with a placeholder estimated arrival date.
Diablo 3 released on the Xbox 360 last year, so this certainly isn’t bordering on impossible. It also sold sold well, bordering on 700,000 units on the platform alone. There is money to be made on Xbox, and Activision nor Blizzard take that lightly.
Assuming Diablo 3 makes the jump to Xbox One this year, the big question is if Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will as well. Reaper of Souls is highly anticipated, even from fans of the franchise who were disappointed in Diablo 3’s casual design. This rumor seems like a very real prospect that would have a positive effect on the Xbox One’s early library, especially for those who enjoy local multiplayer.
