Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings had the only exclusive track on the record, a cover of the iconic Bond film hit “Goldfinger” that’s exclusive to the soundtrack and was recorded at Daptone House of Soul in Brooklyn. Cast as a wedding band, Jones & the Dap-Kings can be seen performing the track in the film. “Meth Lab Zoso Sticker” by 7Horse, the new project from dada’s Joie Calio and Phil Leavitt, also appears on the soundtrack.
In The Wolf of Wall Street, revered filmmaker Martin Scorsese directs the story of New York stockbroker Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio). From the American dream to corporate greed, Belfort goes from penny stocks and righteousness to IPOs and a life of corruption in the late 80s and early 90s. Excess success and affluence in his early twenties as founder of the brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont warranted Belfort the title – “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Named as one of the Top 10 films of the year by critics at Rolling Stone and The New Yorker, The Wolf of Wall Streetwas nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy and DiCaprio was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for his role as Belfort.
