PNAU Chart Domination… In Germany

Sydney duo PNAU are experiencing a strange sort of revival, topping charts once again courtesy of a French rework to their 2008 hit ‘Baby’.

Electronic veterans Peter Mayes and Nick Littlemore (Empire Of The Sun) reformed PNAU in 2007, compiling some 200 recordings on the way to their self-titled, 2007 album. The Pnau release spawned ‘Baby’, which remains the pair’s most successful charting single (AU #34).

Fast forward six years and ‘Baby’ has made a massive comeback. Retitled ‘Changes’, the new single is the work of French producer Faul and DJ Wad Ad and is doing some serious damage to a number of European charts.

Despite probably intended for summer success, the saxophone heavy ‘Changes’ has stormed to No.1 on the German electronics chart (iTunes) during the continent’s coldest stretch of the year.

The single has also clocked a few million YouTube hits, currently sits No.3 overall on German iTunes chart, No.19 on Spotify, top five in nine other countries while getting a lot of play in France, Switzerland and the UK.

Fans can expect PNAU to finally drop some new material in 2014. The guys have allegedly been in the studio since May working on a follow-up to 2011’s Soft Universe and last year’s Elton Jon collaboration Good Morning To The Night
