Outkast Reunite, Will Headline Coachella 2014

Fans have been clamoring for a reunion between Big Boi and Andre 3000, which would usher in a new era for Outkast. We’ve heard snippets of hopeful news and rumors over the years, but nothing has come to fruition.

After several news items surfaced this week breathlessly reporting that OutKast were in “prolonged talks” to reunite at Coachella 2014 in a headlining performance, the news has been finally confirmed by Diddy’s Revolt TV, as well as OutKast collaborator Sleepy Brown.

Revolt‘s report suggests that the reunited Big Boi and Andre 3000 will play multiple US dates as well. There’s been no mention of new music thus far, but of course, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

It had seemed for quite a while as if the artistic direction between Bi Boi and Andre had evolved to a point of incongruency. With the legacy of Outkast weighing heavily on each of their solo endeavors over the years, with fans never giving up the spark of hope that they’d catch the reunion fever that’s been making the rounds these past few years.

Looks like we got our wish.
