Catch The First Glimpse Of The INXS Mini-Series

The first look at the upcoming mini-series about one of Australia’s greatest acts, INXS: Never Tear Us Apart, has finally arrived.

Channel Seven’s INXS story, in collaboration with Shine Australia, is expected early next year will retell the band’s rise to international success, their rock-and-roll lifestyle and frontman Michael Hutchence’s suicide in 1997.

Hutchence is played by Aussie Luke Arnold while a few other noted actors also fill prominent roles, including Hugh Sheridan (Packed to the Rafters) as bass player Garry Gary Beers; Alex Williams, (Underground: The Julian Assange Story) as guitar and saxophone player Kirk Pengilly; Ido Drent (Offspring) as drummer Jon Farriss; Andy Ryan (Underbelly: Squizzy Tayloras) guitar and keyboard player Andrew Farriss; and Nicholas Masters as guitarist Tim Farriss. X Factor winner Samantha Jade plays Kylie Minogue.

The mini-series also features real footage of the band’s 1991 Wembley Stadium show from the ‘Summer XS’ Tour and was filmed after receiving the blessings of the remaining INXS members, something that hasn’t been easy for former guitarist Tim Farriss.

“I’ve been spending a lot of time with the cast and I’m amazed – at times I actually thought Michael was there,” Farriss said of being an on set consultant. ”It has been all forms of emotion for me (but) I’m very excited.”
