Vampire Weekend, Bonobo Announce Falls Festival Sideshows

Vampire Weekend announced a couple of Australian sideshows on Tuesday to supplement the band’s appearance at this year’s Falls Festival.

In addition to their three stops with the regional Falls Festival (Lorne, Marion Bay and Byron Bay) and Southbound in Western Australia in Decemeber and January, Vampire Weekend will hit Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Monday, January 6 and Sydney’s Hordern Pavillion on Wednesday, January 8.

Vampire Weekend dropped studio album No.3 in May, Modern Vampires Of The City, and visited Australia in January as part of Big Day Out, but fans that missed out on the festival were given just one extra chance to catch the boys- at The Enmore in Sydney.

Gangs Of Youths are the support act for both shows and public sale tickets are available as of Thursday, October 17.

English DJ Bonobo was a huge hit during his 2011 visit and is marking his Australian return with three impressive sideshows in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.

Bonobo released his fifth studio album this year, The North Borders, and has amassed some 50 million plays online.

The Sydney Opera House will host the DJ on Monday, January 6 before shows in Melbourne on the 7th (The Palace Theatre) and Adelaide on the 8th (The Gov).

A string of other Falls Festival acts announced Australian sideshows last week, including Crystal Fighters, The Roots, Solange and London Grammar.
