CraveOnVine: Top 5 Vines About Miley Cyrus vs. Sinead O’Connor

Twerking on the VMAsthe “Wrecking Ball” videothe latest “artsy” photo shoot with big time photographer Terry Richardson

Boy, that Miley Cyrus is really making the leap from child star to adult artist the right way, isn’t she?

She’s boldly declaring her independence and power, stripping off her clothes and claiming her sexuality.  And she’s doing it by thrusting that twerk-toned ass at you with tongue-flicking glee at every opportunity.  And we mean EVERY opportunity.  In fact, we bet Miley is right now arguing with Lorne Michaels that a band-aid stretched over her “little Miley” will be more than enough costuming to keep “Saturday Night Live” and NBC from millions of dollars in FCC fines after her SNL hosting gig this weekend.

God, what a true artiste she is…(by the way, you can tell how important the art is when you add that extra “e” to the end of artist).

But let’s not focus solely on Miley, the artist.  Let’s take a moment to honor Miley, the person.  Just look at how regally Miley has accepted her exploding superstar status, paying homage to the artists and stars who influenced her…like Michael Jordan in her new “23” video.

No more fitting tribute could be possible for His Airness.

And now, Miley is turning the spotlight on one of her music idols — Sinead O’Connor.  After Miley acknowledged that the super-tight close-up, intensely emotional style of “Wrecking Ball” owed much to Sinead’s 1990 classic “Nothing Compares 2 U,” Sinead responded with a heartfelt letter to Miss Twerk, cautioning her about the dangers her hypersexualized image pose not only to herself, but other young women in the male-dominated music industry.

Miley’s response?  As classy as expected, of course.

Thanking O’Connor for her concern and appreciating the words of experience from an industry-scarred veteran….that would be…well, pretty fucking boring.  Miley is an artiste who knows she has a new album to pimp…I mean, sell.  She can’t be boring.

Which also means she can’t just let the open letter go by without comment. Can’t let a chance for publicity slip when an album is dropping…

No, Miley responded to O’Connor with fearlessness.  Hannah Montana is dead — and Miley Cyrus isn’t afraid of the industry — or that washed-up hag who had a bipolar meltdown last year.

A true artiste…a true businesswoman…a true feminist…a true humanitarian…ladies and gentlemen, Miley Cyrus.

The open warfare between the pop-princess-turned-softcore-porn-queen and the Pope-slamming, hellraising, emotionally-unstable iconoclast has Vine users offering their perspectives.  And Miley…well, she’s taking a bit of a pounding.
