Eminem To Announce Australian Return

Eminem kicked off his official comeback with the release of ‘Bezerk’ shortly before the weekend and Australian fans can expect a soon-to-be-announced stadium tour scheduled for early 2014.

The rapper is returning with a new album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (MMLP2), set for release on November 5, and will announce a massive Australian tour in the very near future.

The Herald Sun’s Nui Te Koha reported over the weekend that promoter Paul Dainty will announce stadium dates, including a return to Melbourne’s Docklands Stadium.

Citing “industry sources”, the Herald Sun report claims that organisers of the Soundwave festival were involved in negotiations with the rapper to join the 2014 festival (featuring Green Day, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains), but “withdrew its offer when it became clear Eminem preferred to do a solo tour, and not festivals”.

The Eminem tour is expected to launch towards the end of February and run into March, his first Australian shows since headlining a December 2011 tour that featured supporting performances from Lil Wayne and Hilltop Hoods.

The 40-year-old played the Reading Festival last weekend; headlining with a 26 song set and debuting his new single ‘Berzerk’, but not without receiving some criticism for some alleged lip synching.
