Nintendo Announces $130 2DS and Wii U Price Drop

Today Nintendo made strides to remain as competitive as ever going into the 2013 holiday season.

First, a Nintendo 2DS has been announced. For the price of $129.99 the 2DS will be capable of running all 3DS and DS games. However, it won’t have a 3D capable display or be able to fold neatly into the pocket. The new device will come in two colors: blue and red. As far as how it looks aesthetically, that’s up to you decide. You can see it in action below.

In addition to the 2DS announcement, Nintendo also revealed that it will be finally dropping the price of the Wii U. This September 20th to coincide with the launch of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, the black Deluxe Wii U console will be available for $299.99, equating to a $50 price drop. To add even more ‘oomph’ to the announcement, Nintendo also revealed thepreviously leaked Zelda: Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle. The black Deluxe Wii U bundle will include a Zelda-stylized GamePad, a code to download a digital book with artwork, history, and more, and a digital copy of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD.
