What Does Law And Order SVU Have To Do With Soundwave 2014?

Soundwave 2014 promoter AJ Maddah revealed via Twitter on Wednesday that he came close to booking Ice T and his heavy metal band, only to be knocked back due to the rapper’s television commitments.

Detective Odafin “Fin” Tutuola is required on set for the filming of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, a show he has been part of since 2000.

Ice T’s band Manslaughter won’t make it over for the February/March Soundwave 2014 national tour, but that doesn’t necessarily mean Maddah is adverse to signing hip hop acts to Australia’s premier heavy music festival.

“Not Wu Tang as I just couldn’t deal with their collective BS,” Maddah tweeted recently about signing specific hip hop acts. “I’d have a nervous breakdown with that lot. Would happily have Ice Cube or Public Enemy though!”

Maddah has hinted that another A-lister could join the festival if they too are able to clear their television commitments.

According to Maddah, Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden is attempting to change his Aussie TV commitments with the reality show The Voice, that clash with Soundwave 2014 by “2 f****** days”.

Maddah and Good Charlotte haven’t always seen eye to eye, but the two have appeared to have settled their differences in a bid to join the 2014 bill.

Maddah asked his huge Twitter following to sign a petition in February to “Get The Madden Brothers Out Of Australia”, calling the duo a pair of “money grubbing c**** with zero principles and disdain for their fans.”

The beef between the two parties appears to have lingered since Good Charlotte played at the first Soundwave back in 2004, but has recently been resolved.
