Artist of The Month: Everlast ‘Broken’ Exclusive Studio Session

We’ve been bringing you some powerful exclusive performances from Crave’s Band of The Month featured artist Everlast all throughout August, as a prelude to his upcoming new solo album, The Life Acoustic, arriving August 27 via his Martyr Inc record label. Today we’re unveiling another session clip from the man who fronted House of Pain, helped launch La Coka Nostra and cut an entirely new path for himself with a wealth of powerful grit-&-rhythm solo albums.

The Life Acoustic will feature reworked and stripped versions of signature Everlast songs and beyond, including “My Medicine,” which originally appeared on Snoop Dogg’s Ego Trippin’ album in 2008, an acoustic version of the monster House Of Pain anthem, “Jump Around” and more.

We set up shop at Swing House studios in Los Angeles for an exclusive CraveOnstage session with Everlast, and the results feel like lightning in a bottle. So far we’ve shared with you an exclusive performance of “Sad Girl,” the first track off The Life Acoustic, as well as a funked-up, positively badass cover of “Children’s Story” by Slick Rick, filtered through the unique stylings of Everlast, and a powerful new take on “Stone In My Hand,” a song that takes on an added poignancy in today’s NSA-deluged world of stripped rights and rule-by-fear tactics.

Now we bring you the penultimate performance from the sessions, the fourth track on The Life Acoustic, called “Broken”:

Next week, in addition to a full-album stream of The Life Acoustic, we’ll bring you a full, candid interview with the man they call Everlast, as well as the final performance from our CraveOnstage session! Additionally, check out the official track listing for The Life Acoustic below and be sure to pre-order the album now, which will be available on cd and vinyl.

Keep up with Everlast on FacebookTwitter and his official site.
