Lollapalooza 2013 VIDEO: Phoenix Saves the Best for Chicago, Plans for the Holidays

The mall, the doctor’s office, your cousin Barry’s bar mitzvah — seems like we just can’t go anywhere this summer without running into Phoenix.

They were at Coachella back in April, jamming with R. Kelly.  They put together the trippy hip-laden “Trying to Be Cool” video.  And France’s coolest musical export since Edith Piaf (Daft Punk notwithstanding, of course) are still riding the wave off their blockbuster “Bankrupt” album — right into Chicago and right on to the Lollapalooza main stage.

Ahead of their headlining set, we talked with the guys about how they approach what gets played in front of the festival crowd, their love of city skylines and how Christmas could tell the whole story for Phoenix in 2014.

What?!  Let’s just say that Phoenix fans better hope the band gift exchange Dec. 25 goes well. 

Of course, they’re kidding…we think.  They’re French.  Who can say for sure?
