FEAR Developer Reveals Betrayer, a Strange Action-Adventure

Several members of the F.E.A.R. team have converged to develop a new game, which has now been announced as Betrayer. It’s an action-adventure game from the first-person perspective set in the 17th century with classic weapons to use such as muskets, crossbows, and throwing axes. There will be mysteries to solve and plenty of creepy situations magnified by the game’s monochrome visuals.

Blackpowder Games gave a brief synopsis of the game which it described as the following:

Betrayer washes you ashore in the New World in 1604, where you’re expecting to join a struggling English colony on the Virginia coast. Instead you find only ghosts and mysteries in a land drained of color and life. You’ll build up an arsenal of weaponry including muskets, crossbows and throwing axes, collecting untold treasures along the way. Chart your own course through an untamed wilderness teeming with danger and discovery as you search for survivors and unravel the colony’s many mysteries, including the identity of the strange, silent woman in red who helps from afar.

It certainly looks unique (as you can see from the gameplay images below), but will only release on PC. Thankfully, those wanting to play it will be able to buy it later this month.
