BioShock Infinite Sales at 4 Million While Borderlands 2 Topples Record

Take-Two Interactive was surprised by the overwhelming success of the original Borderlands. Needless to say, it quickly put Gearbox Software to work on a sequel. That wasn’t such a bad idea.

During its latest earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick announced that Borderlands 2 has managed a whopping 7 million sales since its 2012 release. It has become the most successful game in 2K Games history under Take-Two. In addition to this success, BioShock Infinite has sold 4 million units to-date, averaging one-million per month.

Despite this great success, not all is well in the world of Take-Two. During the three months preceding June 30th there was a significant drop of 37% in year-over-year sales, as detailed in the company’s fiscal quarter report.

With BioShock Infinite DLC on its way along with the inevitably colossal release of Grand Theft Auto V, the company should see some positive numbers in no-time at all.
