Wayne Rooney Angry at Manchester United, Wants to Leave

Wayne Rooney is angry at the recent comments made by new Manchester United manager David Moyes, after Moyes revealed he wants the England international to be nothing more than a substitute for Van Persie.

“My thought on Wayne is that if we had an injury to Robin van Persie we are going to need him”, Moyes told reporters. “I want as many options as possible.”

Rooney, who has been at Old Trafford for nine years, is reportedly “angry and confused” by Moyes’ statement, and now wants to leave his £250,000-a-week contract behind and take his talents elsewhere.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is said to be interested in signing Rooney to the London club, although United have insisted that the striker is not for sale. Mourinho also spoke of how Rooney spending his time on the bench next season will impact upon the national team, saying: “If Wayne is a second choice for Man United, the national team will be affected.”

The Sun reports that Rooney has spoken to the club and has made his feelings known about his future (or lack thereof) with them.
