Nine Inch Nails Predicted To Headline Soundwave 2014

A Nine Inch Nails tour kicking off at the end of the month has sprouted rumours that the band will join the 2014 Soundwave festival as headline act.

Trent Reznor declared his intention to take Nine Inch Nails on a massive world tour back in February, saying in a message to fans, “The band is reinventing itself from scratch and will be comprised of Eric Avery, Adrian Belew, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis, Ilan Rubin, and me. The first shows will begin this summer, followed by a full-on arena tour of the US this fall, and lots of other dates worldwide to follow through 2014.”

Triple M music reporter Nui Te Koha made the prediction this week that NIN would feature at Soundwave.

“Soundwave festival is close to securing Nine Inch Nails,” said the reporter with a history of making accurate festival calls.

Having made correct scoops ahead of last year’s Soundwave, calling the presence of Blink 182, Linkin Park and The Offspring well ahead of the line-up announcement, there’s a solid chance Nui Te Koha has it right again.

Triple M’s Soundwave predictions also included Skunk Anansie, Shinedown, Fall Out Boy and Aussie rockers Airbourne.

The Nine Inch Nails will spend July, August and one date in September making festival appearances in Asia, Europe and America before spending the next three months sprinting coast to coast around the US.

The long awaited Hesitation Marks, an album Reznor describes “frankly fucking great”, is due out just around the corner (Sept 3) and with it will come more international dates in 2014. Among those, hopefully, will be five Soundwave sets in February.
