Australia’s favourite home-grown electro-minimalists Seekae are returning Down Under for the first time in almost a year for a national tour ahead of the release of a highly anticipated new studio album.
The normally Sydney-based trio of Alex Cameron, George Nicholas and John Hassel will play six sets in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Fremantle, Brisbane and finally in Sydney this August and September after having spent a significant amount of time in the UK recording their second full length release.
Seekae will play some unusual venues on their return, including National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, the Published Arthouse in Adelaide and finishing the tour with a performance at the 10th anniversary of Sydney radio station FBi, a long-time supporter of the band, alongside The Presets, Hermitude and Urthboy.
Known for expertly blending live instruments with mixes, Aussie fans can expect to hear what should be a new Seekae sound to that of 2011’s internationally acclaimed +Dome and their 2008 debut The Sound Of Trees Falling On People. Nicholas told FasterLouder late in 2012 that the guys will venture into new territory for their upcoming release.
“We’re getting more and more of an idea of what it’s [the new album] going to sound like. It’ll be fairly different from the last two records… It’s a bit more accessible, I guess.”
