Netflix has confirmed that Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie will reunite for Dogfight, their seventh film together. The announcement triggered an instant wave of replies from fans who spotted a familiar pattern in the pairing, and most of them said the same thing.
Fans react to Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie’s new criminal underworld movie
Netflix revealed the project in a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie will reunite for their seventh film collaboration in DOGFIGHT. Written and directed by Guy Ritchie. In production early 2027.”
Replies piled up fast. Fans are comparing this new movie to both Statham and Ritchie’s stereotypical work. One fan summed up the expected plot: “Boy I hope its about Jason Statham, a former bad a– retired killer who gets sucked out of peaceful retirement back into a violent world he never wanted to return to. Also, he kicks people.”
Another joked about Ritchie’s directing method: “Seventh one together. at this point guy ritchie just hands statham a london address and a man to throw through a window.” A third dismissed the news outright: “They’ve been making the same movie over and over for about 15 years now…”
Another fan said, “Spoiler alert: it’s exactly the same as the previous six,” while one wrote, “So it’s gonna be a same story but different theme with an actor that plays the same person in every movie real excited to see this one.”
Netflix bills Dogfight as “a stylish revenge actioner set in the London criminal underworld.” The streamer has kept plot details under wraps. Ritchie writes, directs and produces the flick. Statham stars and produces through his Punch Palace banner. Cameras roll in the U.K. in early 2027.
The film continues a partnership that began with Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and ran through Snatch, Revolver, Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre and the upcoming Viva La Madness. Whether the seventh outing breaks the formula or repeats it, fans have already made their prediction clear.
