Man Without Clothes Is Tased and Arrested, But Still Manages to Bite Deputy

It’s not every day that police has to arrest a man without clothes, though it probably happens more often than they’d like. A Florida man wearing nothing but his birthday suit was caught trying to enter a private swimming pool, and during the arrest, deputies had to deploy a Taser. That would typically be the end of the story, but the man decided that he wasn’t done with the police after he arrived at a hospital.

Deputies had encountered the man earlier that day

On September 2 at around 12:45 p.m., deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from a neighborhood on 52nd Street in Marathon of a man, later identified as 24-year-old Rochan Rock Jean, wandering around in public without any clothes on, based on reports from Hoodline and Tampa Free Press.

Deputies located the Tavernier man trespassing in a private swimming pool and attempted to get him out of the pool but he became combative. That’s when deputies fired a Taser at the man and then pulled him from the pool. He was brought to Fisherman’s Hospital, a facility in Marathon operated by Baptist Health South Florida. It is standard procedure for suspects who have had a Taser deployed against them to be transported to a hospital before being booked into a jail.

But Jean continued to resist while at the hospital and bit a deputy in the arm. Authorities say that the deputy received medical attention for his injury at the same facility.

Interestingly, this wasn’t the first time that deputies had encountered Jean that day. Before the trespassing incident, the man was at a business in Marathon where he was reportedly acting strangely. At that time, Jean was fully clothed, but the business asked deputies to remove him from the property and barred from returning.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Jean was charged with one felony count of battery and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief for damaging property, though it’s unclear what the man damaged. It’s surprising that he wasn’t charged with indecent exposure, but the felony count of battery is far more serious offense that can carry up to five years in prison, five years of probation, and a $5,000 fine upon conviction.
