The upcoming 18th anniversary of Breaking Bad is bringing a big-screen surprise for fans of the AMC series by taking the show to theaters. In celebration of the momentous occasion that viewers fondly refer to as Breaking Bad Day, one of the country’s biggest theater chains has announced plans for the screening of one of the show’s most high-stakes episodes.
Breaking Bad Season 4 finale set to premiere in theaters this fall
According to a recent report by Collider, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will be commemorating Breaking Bad Day on September 7 by holding interactive theatrical screenings of the series’ Season 4 finale, titled “Face Off.”
Fans who wish to catch the screening can do so without spending anything, except for a refundable $10 USD food and drink voucher. Interested viewers can redeem the offer at select Alamo Drafthouse theaters, which also comes with a slew of Breaking Bad goodies, including a Heisenberg hat, a Hector Salamanca call bell, a Gus Fring half-face mask, as well as blue rock candy.
The interactive aspect of the experience involves a performance from a live host, who will be wearing a yellow cleansuit. The emcee will cue the attendees to mimic Hector Salamanca’s iconic bell rings by instructing them to chime their call bells whenever the retired drug overlord does so on the big screen. After that, the host will anchor a costume contest. As such, fans are encouraged to attend the screening while impersonating their favorite characters.
Notably, Breaking Bad Season 4 Episode 13 is the chapter where Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and meth kingpin Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) come head-to-head for the final time. White ends up having the last laugh when he blows up his former boss by using Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis).
The Breaking Bad screening will take place on September 7 in select Alamo Drafthouse theaters across New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, DC Metro Area, Denver, Laredo, Omaha, Northern Virginia, Raleigh, San Francisco Bay Area, St. Louis, and Springfield. Fans can reserve their seats by hopping on to Drafthouse.com.
