It’s understandable for people to get frustrated over a neighbor’s dog pooping on their lawn, but one man in Florida allegedly took things to such a dangerous level that the police were called. Trey Decloedt of Lake County is accused of opening his neighbor’s front door and throwing the dog’s poop at him, which escalated to a fight between the two. Deputies later arrived on the scene and arrested Decloedt, who tells his own version of what happened.
Decloedt is also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
On August 8 at around 8:54 a.m., deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report that Decloedt had allegedly thrown dog feces at his neighbor after entering his property, as reported by News 6.
According to the arrest affidavit, this led to a fight where Decloedt struck the victim on his left forehead and then lifted a scooter above his head and threatened him.
However, Decloedt shared his side of the story with deputies as shown on bodycam footage of the arrest.
“I’ve complained about the dogs s***ing in my yard,” he said. “I said something to his old lady about it. She said she would pick it up. Four hours later, it was still there.”
Decloedt denies throwing the dog poop at anyone: “I set it on the edge of the driveway right there.”
He then accused the victim of inflicting minor injuries on him, saying that “he scratched my neck all up yesterday when he grabbed me.”
When the deputy asked Declouedt to come outside so that he could take a picture of the scratches, he refused. This led the deputy to enter his home and arrest him, telling the man that he was “acting 5 years old when I tell you to come outside.”
Declouedt has been charged with burglary with battery, simple battery, and aggravated assult with a deadly weapon.
