Ted Lasso has returned with Season 4, and along with it, the “will they, won’t they” dynamic between Roy Kent and Keeley Jones has also made a comeback. The latest installment of the fan-favorite Apple TV series has once again fueled the flames of romance between the ex-AFC Richmond captain and the model-turned-PR consultant. In line with this, Juno Temple, who plays Keeley on the show, has shared her opinion on the couple’s future.
Juno Temple talks Roy and Keeley’s future in Ted Lasso Season 4
While speaking to ScreenRant‘s Liam Crowley, the Killer Joe star acknowledged the steamy chemistry between her Ted Lasso character and Brett Goldstein’s Roy Kent. However, Temple admitted that she doesn’t want the pair to get together at the wrong time again.
“I mean, will they, won’t they? I mean, there’s definitely chemistry there, isn’t there? And that’s something that I love,” the 37-year-old actress remarked. “I feel like Keeley could probably have chemistry with a teapot, but at the same time, there’s something with Roy where it feels like it slightly stops her in her tracks, which I love. But will the time be now or not? I don’t know. I think it’s about kind of…I mean, I sure as hell know that I don’t want it to be the wrong timing again.”
Hannah Waddingham, who has reprised her role of AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton for Ted Lasso Season 4, also weighed in on Roy and Keeley’s on-screen connection during the interview. “Oh yeah, I just love these two playing any scenes together,” the Game of Thrones star noted. “Whatever the outcome, Juno and Brett together were meant to find each other on camera.”
In Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 2, Jason Sudeikis’ titular character did say that Keeley only sees Roy as a really good friend at this point. However, the narrative of the series, so far, indicates that a potential reunion between the former lovers is definitely on the table.
The Apple TV hit has premiered two episodes of its fourth season so far, with new chapters set to air every other Wednesday.
