Season 2 of Michael Fassbender’s highly anticipated spy thriller is set to premiere on Paramount+ very soon. The series is returning after nearly a two-year hiatus. The new trailer promises another season of high-stakes missions that’ll take viewers across the globe.

Season 2 of The Agency, also known as The Agency: Central Intelligence, debuts on Paramount+ on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
The series is based on the French television series The Bureau, created by Eric Rochant. It ran for five seasons and aired on Canal Plus between 2015 and 2020. Meanwhile, Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth serve as the show creators for the Paramount adaptation. George Clooney serves as one of the executive producers.
The Agency centers on Martian, a CIA operative forced to abandon his undercover life and return to London. When a former lover from his covert past unexpectedly reappears, things take a dramatic turn.
The series’ cast features Michael Fassbender as “Martian,” Jeffrey Wright as Henry, Jodie Turner-Smith as Dr. Samia, Richard Gere as James, Katherine Waterston as Naomi, and Harriet Sansom Harris as Dr. Rachel, among others.
The Agency Season 1 premiered with two episodes on November 29, 2024. The remaining eight episodes arrived weekly. Reportedly, the premiere drew more than 5.1 million viewers during the first weekend, per Deadline. Naturally, the announcement for Season 2 followed quickly. The upcoming installment will also feature 10 episodes.
Alongside impressive viewership, the show also garnered favorable ratings on review aggregator sites. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds a perfect 100% user score, while the critics’ score is at 66%. On IMDb, nearly 30K users’ votes average at 7.4 out of 10.
Season 1 ended on a massive cliffhanger with MI6 agent James Richardson revealing that Martian’s motorcycle accident was no accident at all. He uses Samia to pressure Martian into becoming a double agent, offering to secure her safety in exchange for his cooperation. Martian reluctantly agrees.
