Several new rumors about Avengers: Doomsday have surfaced this week. Industry insiders have shared unverified claims about unannounced characters, storyline details, and potential returning villains.
Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, which stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and arrives on December 18, 2026. It serves as the first part of the Multiverse Saga’s closing chapter, leading into Avengers: Secret Wars.

Unannounced Characters
Scooper Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus recently shared multiple details about the upcoming film. Perez revealed that at least eight to nine unannounced characters have filmed scenes for the movie.
The film already features the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Thunderbolts/New Avengers, and Sam Wilson’s reformed Avengers team. Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel reportedly stands among the likely unannounced additions. Vision also remains a candidate depending on the events of the upcoming VisionQuest series.
Kang Storyline’s Fate
Perez also teased that the Kang storyline will receive some form of closure in the Avengers films. He stated that He Who Remains “won,” despite the character not appearing in either Doomsday or Secret Wars.
Jonathan Majors will not appear in the movie following his legal troubles and subsequent firing by Marvel. The studio originally titled the fifth Avengers film The Kang Dynasty before pivoting to Doctor Doom as the central villain.
Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. Role Reversal
