Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Role in Avengers: Doomsday Gets Discouraging Report

A new Avengers: Doomsday rumor has surfaced, bringing bad news concerning Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki‘s role in the film. However, it comes with good news about the Young Avengers and their setup within the wider MCU.

Loki was confirmed to appear in the film by Marvel Studios in the initial cast reveal livestream. On the other hand, the Young Avengers’ presence in the ensemble film has not yet been confirmed.

Loki won’t have a bigger role in Avengers: Doomsday

According to a new rumor, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki will reportedly only have a “small” part in Avengers: Doomsday. This rumor comes from renowned scooper Daniel Richtman, who shared it on his Patreon (via ComicBookMovie.com).

Notably, Loki was last seen becoming the God of Stories and assuming the responsibility of holding together different multiversal timelines. Essentially, the role won’t let him leave the Citadel at the End of Time, where he is currently.

This is because his departure, even if temporary, to possibly intervene in fighting Doctor Doom, could risk the multiverse falling apart. Thus, this aligns with the aforementioned rumor suggesting a minor role in the film for him.

Last year, Richtman claimed that Hiddleston filmed a scene of Loki in Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter’s home. This was followed by a rumor from MyTimetoShineHello, who said, “Loki and Steve share important scenes together in Doomsday.”

However, Richtman suggested that Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, and Cassie Lang will share scenes in the film, ostensibly to set up the Young Avengers’ formation. Notably, the team’s development was first teased at the end of The Marvels, with Kamala Khan showing up at Bishop’s apartment and recruiting her to join a team of heroes she was putting together.

Later, Daredevil: Born Again subtly hinted at Khan’s continued efforts to build her team. In Episode 5, Yusuf Khan, her father, told Matt Murdock (Daredevil) that she was in California, meeting some friends. This alludes to Khan (and possibly Bishop) likely looking for Lang, who’s based in San Francisco, like her father, Ant-Man, to recruit her into their team.

Ultimately, these rumors from Richtman are unverified. Accordingly, fans will have to wait for official confirmation from Marvel Studios about the scope of Loki and Young Avengers’ involvement in the film.

Avengers: Doomsday premieres on December 18, 2026.
