Susan Lucci says she ‘would love to play Erica Kane’ in All My Children movie reboots

Susan Lucci has hinted at strong interest in reprising her role as Erica Kane as Lifetime moves forward with plans for new All My Children television films.

The actor addressed the possibility while appearing on Kelly Ripa’s SiriusXM podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera. Ripa revealed that she and husband Mark Consuelos are developing two movies based on the former ABC daytime drama through their production company, Milojo. Asked whether she would consider returning as Erica Kane, Lucci responded enthusiastically. “I would love to play Erica Kane again,” she said.

Looking back on her years portraying the character, she added, “It would be a lot of fun. Are you kidding? She was so much fun to play. My goodness, it was so much fun. I was serious when I said I would look at the scripts and go, ‘Really, I get to do this?’ This was a wonderful part.” Lucci also talked about the creative team behind the project, calling them, “so important.” She added, “And I’ve been hearing good things about the writer, too.”

Lucci, who recently released her memoir La Lucci, has previously indicated that interest in reviving All My Children has remained active for years. While promoting her memoir La Lucci on the Soapy podcast, she said, “It’s been bubbling for several years and just when I think it probably isn’t bubbling anymore, it’s bubbling. It’s bubbling as we speak!” Her remarks drew surprise from hosts Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart.

Lifetime’s involvement first surfaced in September 2024. As per TVLine, the network was developing two television movies based on the soap, including a holiday themed project. Since then, Lucci’s recent comments marked the first significant update.
