New Dave Bautista Thriller To Stream on Netflix After Prime Video Success

An action-thriller movie headlined by Dave Bautista, which established a strong presence on Prime Video following its arrival on the platform, is making its way to Netflix soon. Trap House, which hit theaters last year, is arriving on Netflix next month. With its scheduled arrival on the streamer, the film is poised to continue expanding its audience reach.

Trap House sets Netflix release date

Trap House will start streaming on Netflix on February 27, 2026, as per What’s on Netflix. Thus, it joins another release also scheduled to arrive on the same day, Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 8.

Following its arrival on Prime Video, the film secured second place on FlixPatrol‘s list of most-watched movies on the streamer. It retains that place as of January 22, 2026. Thus, the film is surpassed by The Tank, which is #1. However, it surpasses Shadow Force (#3), It Ends With Us (#4), A Working Man (#5), Black Site (#6), Ballerina (#7), Splitsville (#8), Our Fault (#9), and The Accountant 2 (#10).

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a rotten score of 52% and a considerably lower audience score of 43%. This indicates that neither critics nor most of the audience found much to like about the film at the time of its release. Metacritic tells a different story, however, as the film boasts a robust user score of 6.2, indicating “generally favorable” reviews.

Michael Dowse directed Trap House from Gary Scott Thompson and Tom O’Connor’s screenplay. Meanwhile, Dave Bautista, who stars in the film, co-produced it with Rebecca Feuer, Marc Goldberg, Sarah Gabriel, Todd Lunbohm, Jonathan Meisner, Christian Mercuri, and Michael Pruss.

Set in El Paso, Texas, the story follows an undercover DEA agent and his partner. The pair goes after some thieves, who aim to rob a dangerous cartel. Upon realizing that the thieves’ tactics and intel are very familiar, the duo digs deeper to uncover their identities. They soon realize, to their shock, that the thieves are their own teenage children. Consequently, a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game between law-enforcement parents and unruly children kicks off.

Apart from Bautista, the film stars Jack Champion, Sophia Lillis, Bobby Cannavale, and Kate del Castillo, among others.
