2022 Action Thriller With Just 29% on RT Is a Streaming Hit Now

An action-thriller movie starring Jai Courtney has been doing incredibly well on streaming. Black Site has become a streaming success on Prime Video in both the United States and the rest of the world, having secured a top position in streaming analytics charts. Notably, the film received largely mixed-to-negative reviews at the time of its release in 2022.

Black Site is dominating on Prime Video’s US and global streaming charts

As of January 14, 2026, Black Site is the #5 movie on Amazon Prime Video in both the United States and globally, as per FlixPatrol.

In the global charts, Black Site, which has a total of 129 popularity points, is outranked by It Ends With Us (#4, 132 points), A Working Man (#3, 139 points), The Tank (#2, 386), and Trap House (#1, 400). Meanwhile, the film outranks Wrath of Man (#6, 76 points), Tell Me Softly (#7, 73 points), The Accountant (#8, 73 points), Ballerina (#9, 72 points), and Follow My Voice (#10, 61 points).

Besides having a low critical score of 29% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film also has an extremely low 20% audience score. Meanwhile, on Metacritic, the film has a very low user score of 2.0, denoting “generally unfavorable” reception.

The film reportedly didn’t enjoy a wider theatrical release, only experiencing simultaneous limited theatrical and video-on-demand releases.

Black Site revolves around a group of CIA officers led by Abby Trent in the Citadel, a top-secret Five Eyes site located in Jordan. They engage in an intense hunt for Hatchet, a high-value detainee who entered the site on purpose to fulfill a personal agenda. The hunt becomes increasingly personal for Abby when she uncovers Hatchet’s connection to her past tragedy: the deaths of her husband and daughter in a hospital bombing.

Sophia Banks directed Black Site from Jinder Ho’s screenplay. MEP Capital, Elevation Production Finance, Rocket Science, Asbury Park Pictures, and Story Bridge Films are the production companies behind the film, while Redbox and Vertical Entertainment are the distributors.

In addition to Jai Courtney, the film stars Michelle Monaghan, Jason Clarke, Pallavi Sharda, Phoenix Raei, Fayssal Bazzi, Uli Latukefu, and Logan Huffman, among others.
