Tom Brady Throws Tablet, Curses Out Team During Bucs-Saints Football Game Tantrum (Somebody Needs a Time-Out)

Why is Tom Brady still playing football? Seriously, the dude is richer than God, is married to a model, and has three kids who would probably love to see more of him. He retired, then unretired, then took time off to deal with vague personal issues (which were later rumored to be marital issues), and now he’s back on the field again, yet seems to be pretty pissy about it.

To wit: Sunday’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints. Towards the end of the third quarter, when the Saints were leading 3-0, Brady got fed up with his team’s lackluster performance threw a Microsoft Surface tablet while on the sidelines. (At least it wasn’t an iPad, right?)

But that’s not all. In the fourth quarter, Brady got in a skirmish with New Orleans cornerback Marshon Lattimore, into which Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette and wide receiver Mike Evans got involved, leading to a fracas that resulted in Lattimore and Evans getting ejected. (Because of course this couldn’t possibly be the golden boy’s fault.)

Like all things involving brawls and football, the video of the incident quickly went viral and sparked plenty of speculation on social media.

The Bucs won, by the way, 20-10. So WTF got his panties all in a twist?

“It’s an emotional game,” Brady said after the fact. “A little bit of execution helps all the way around. I thought the defense played well again and the offensive line fought hard. It’s a really tough team, really well coached — a team we really struggle with, so it feels good to win.”

He also apologized in a Twitter video for tossing the tablet. (Now this we can forgive. We hate tablets, too.)

“Sorry for breaking that tablet,” he said. “I think that’s gonna be another Twitter meme or something like that.”

We wouldn’t go that far, Brady. But your emotional lability makes us a little nervous. Just do everyone a favor and retire already.
