Chris Hemsworth Eyes ‘Men in Black’ Spinoff

Chris Hemsworth has made a major name for himself in the film industry, beginning with a cameo in the first Star Trek reboot leading up to becoming Thor in the immortal Marvel Cinematic Universe. While he clearly has the action and dramatic chops, his talents in comedy have gone unknown for almost the majority of his career, only being able to put them on screen recently thanks to the 2016 all-female reboot of Ghostbusters and the heavily improvised Thor: Ragnarok.

Hemsworth will get his chance to draw out the laughs again as he is officially in talks to star in the upcoming reboot of the sci-fi Men in Black franchise, according to Variety. After a trilogy of hits with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as the leads, Sony will be rebooting the series following younger agents fighting against a global alien invasion.

If he joins the film, Hemsworth will portray one of the new agents in the film, while Smith and Jones will not return to the franchise. After tabling a potential crossover between the original trilogy and the Jump Street franchise, the studio fast-tracked a reboot.

The upcoming return of the franchise will feature F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, The Fate of the Furious) in the driver’s seat.

Would you like to see Chris Hemsworth in a Men in Black movie? Do you think there should be another Will Smith/Tommy Lee Jones adventure?
