Assassin’s Creed Origins Revealed… By a Gift Card

Assassin’s Creed Origins appears to have been revealed a week before its expected E3 2017 unveiling, with a Target gift card seemingly outing the upcoming sequel.

It has long been claimed that Assassin’s Creed Origins, the rumored title for the upcoming Ubisoft game, would take place in Ancient Egypt, and a leaked gift card set to be given to those who pre-order the game from Target appears to confirm this. The gift card, which can be viewed below, features the title of the game alongside its unnamed protagonist against a backdrop that includes the pyramids and the Sphinx.

It also states that those who reserve the game will receive a bonus mission titled ‘secrets of the first pyramids.’ It’s uncertain whether or not this DLC will be exclusive to those who pre-order the game from target. The card also states that the gold edition of the game will come with a deluxe pack, season pass and a steelbook case.

Though the run-up to E3 typically sees a wide variety of fake “leaks,” insiders are claiming that this gift card is the real deal. Liam Robertson, a notable insider known for his work with Unseen64, tweeted the following:

There’s no word yet on when Assassin’s Creed Origins’ release date, though we’ll find out more when E3 2017 rolls around next week.
