Destiny 2 PC Release Confirmed by Bungie

Destiny 2 will be making its way to the PC, developer Bungie has confirmed.

With Bungie cutting its sci-fi FPS teeth on the PC with Halo: Combat Evolved, many were disappointed to see the studio’s latest franchise fail to make its way to the platform for its first instalment. Bungie will be rectifying this for its sequel, with the game launching on September 8 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The announcement was made via the game’s official website, with the PC version of the game now available for pre-order alongside its console counterparts. A new CG trailer was also released, and it certainly differs in tone from the first game. It seems like Bungie has watched Deadpool more than a few times…

Here’s a look at the game’s box art, too:

With PC versions of console-oriented games routinely being released after their PS4/Xbox One launches, it’s great to see that Bungie has planned a simultaneous release for Destiny 2 across all three platforms. However, releasing a PC MMO/FPS hybrid will bring with it a whole new set of challenges, so hopefully the studio is up to the task.

A beta will be available for the game, though no further details have been provided other than access can be gained by pre-ordering it.
