Meet Your New Favorite Woman on the Internet | Genie Bouchard

Genie Bouchard has been in the headlines recently as a result of a very cool gesture she made towards a college student.

Genie, a pro tennis player, was asked by 20-year-old Mizzou student John Goehrke if she’d go out on a date with him if the Patriots won the Super Bowl:

As we all know, the Patriots went on to mount an incredible comeback, beating the Falcons 34 – 28. Genie appears to be a woman of her word, asking for John’s details in order to take him up on his offer.

Genie, born in Montreal but currently residing in Florida, is ranked 47th in the pro tennis world, with her having made history as the first Canadian-born tennis player to represent her home country in the finals of a Grand Slam, squaring off against Petra Kvitová.

In an interview with TSN Genie discussed her potential date with John, explaining that he would have to be a “gentleman” and organize their day out together. “You know what. I’ll fly him out (to a tournament), but besides that he has to be the gentleman and, you know, organize a fun date night,” she said, adding: “I want to honor my word.”
