Nintendo Switch is Already Sold Out on Amazon and Walmart

Update: Walmart has sent us a statement to confirm that they are still taking pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch in-store.

Original Story: The Nintendo Switch is already sold out on Amazon and Walmart after only being on sale for a few hours.

The retailers began taking pre-orders for the new console today, following the Nintendo Switch presentation detailing its features and upcoming games. Considering Nintendo’s struggles with stock shortages for the NES Mini, many were concerned that these problems would be mirrored with the Switch, though online retailers already selling all of their stock is unexpected.

The Switch is listed as “currently unavailable” on the US version of Amazon, with its listing adding: “We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.” The console is still available to buy on Amazon in the UK and other European countries.

Walmart states that the console is unavailable to pre-order, while Best Buy still has the console in stock for the time being. It’s uncertain when Nintendo aims to provide these retailers with more stock to meet demand, though if you’re in the market for a Switch we’d strongly suggest pre-ordering the console sooner rather than later.
