Exclusive | ‘American Gods’ # 2 Covers By Fabry & Mack

2017 is going to be a banner year for fans of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods. The hit fantasy novel is being adapted as a live-action TV series for Starz, starting in March, Dark Horse Comics is bringing the novel to comics for the first time in a 27-issue adaptation called American Gods: Shadows. If you’re unfamiliar with the premise of American Gods, the short version is that the old Gods are gathering their forces to take on the new Gods. In the middle of this conflict is a man named Shadow Moon, who probably wishes he was back in prison after getting sucked into the war.

CraveOnline is proud to exclusively unveil two covers from the upcoming second issue of American Gods: Shadows. First up is the regular cover by Glenn Fabry and Adam Brown that features Shadow Moon and Mad Sweeney.

Comics legend P. Craig Russell is pulling double duty on American Gods: Shadows as both a writer and artist, as he and his fellow artist, Scott Hampton adapt Gaiman’s story as a comic for the first time. Russell has previously worked with Gaiman on the “Ramadan” issue of The Sandman in addition to Coraline and The Graveyard Book. Here’s Dark Horse’s description for issue two.

“Fresh out of jail, Shadow Moon finds himself recruited as a bodyguard for the enigmatic Mr. Wednesday, only to be interrupted and kidnapped by the dangerous Technical Boy, who wants answers on Wednesday’s plans.”

American Gods: Shadows # 2 will be released in April at comic stores everywhere.
